Tokyo, Japan [1978]
After moving on from Tin Pan Alley, Haruomi Hosono merged classically trained pianist Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Yukihiro Takahashi [drums/sadistic mica band] to form one of the late seventies most influencial japanese electro-pop acts.

After releasing several albums including live performances, the yellow magic orchestra finally dissolved in 1983, only to be reunited again in 1993 performing at the tokyo dome [technodon]. In 2008, they reformed once more for a live performance at London's Royal Festival Hall [june 15th] as part of 'Massive Attack's Meltdown' event, and later in Gijon, Spain’s Auditorium Ciudad De La Cultura [june 19th]. The last time they had performed as a complete unit on british soil was in 1980 at London's Hammersmith Odeon.
